Nuclear power and old military bases

posted Wednesday, 21 November 2007
We need more power.  The world needs more power.  Anyone who thinks this through realizes that we are going to have to use more nuclear power.  Yet, getting a new nuclear power plant built is a real problem because of all the people who don't want it near them.  What I think congress should do is see if we can put Nuclear power plants on retired military and current military bases.  This way congress can streamline the process and we can get the power sooner than later.

Wow, I could write a near future science fiction book about that. The wheels in my brain are turning . . .

That's a good idea for how to handle this problem.

I like your idea about using the military bases to expand nuclear power. Just did a post on my blog a few days ago about a new book written by a former anti-nuclear activist who now recognizes that atomic energy is "Power To Save The World." Nuclear is definitely the way to go.

There's room for one on the Mall in Washington. ... I'm just saying.
