Market meltdown

So the world's markets are down.  The economy seems to be in a full-blown recession.  The great question is what to do about it.  For me the answer is always to do the right thing and that will fix the long term problems.  The right thing is to balance the budget, fix the energy problem, and don't waste money on a quick fix one time addition to the deficit.
