Jimmy Carter as the root of our Middle East problems

The roots of many of the US problems in the Middle East are the failure of President Jimmy Carter to handle the Iranian hostage situation correctly.  By failing to strike Iran when Iran was weak and by letting our hostages be abused by the Iranians he single handily embolden the generation that is now giving us such problems in Iran.  So, when former President Carter speaks about the Palestinians we should all remember that it is his failure that set the course of Middle East politics for a generation.
