I know what you mean, but a lot of big businesses are still hampered by the
fact that American workers demand high salaries and huge benefits. When
you consider the average American college student's work ethic, it's kind
of a miracle that it hasn't all gone overseas already.
I think another problem might be taxes. If we cleaned up our tax system we
could make it better for businesses to stay in the U.S.
I see what you mean, Esther. I heard Pat Buchanan making a case for
reforming the tax code to help keep industry here in the U.S. when he was
on C-SPAN's Washington Journal this morning (19 Dec.). What do you think,
politicalman? I am very leery of Buchanan, but you do seem to make somewhat
similar points about American business.
