Friday, 3 July 2009 2:21 P GMT-06
Sarah Palin quitting is just what the Republicans don't need right now.  What with South Carolina.  I think Mitt Romney must be smiling.

Iran may be lost for now but the movement their will live on

Monday, 29 June 2009 6:18 P GMT-06
The Iran reform movement looks lost now but I believe the ideas will live on in Iran in the younger generation.  Iran is one of youngest countries in the world and the reform movement will live on.  The reform movement were people who wanted a better life economically and the current leaders have no plan to fix this.  The young will eventually get power and that is the hope for the future.

We need to support the people of Iran and Remember Neda!

We used to say the whole world is watching in the 60ies but there is nothing more true than the world is watching Iran.  This is amazing and I don't see how it ends well but I support the people in their desire for change and hope they get a better government.

Executive Power

Thursday, 11 June 2009 6:31 P GMT-06

Since the economic meltdown started Congress basically gave cart blanch to the executive branch to do what they think necessary to prevent economic collapse.  This is how they were able to take over banks, Chrysler,   G.M. etc.  The result of all this take over is that the government has warrants or preferred ownership in G.M. and several banks.  As the owner the executive has power to set some things like pay scales.  There really is no constitutional basis for this but with the President and Congress from the same party the only group that could stop this unconstitutional use of power by the Executive could only be stopped by the Supreme Court but the court decided not to get involved since the other two branches are working together.  In my opinion, the Executive has more power than any time in my lifetime and this is scary.

Health Care is one sixth of the American Economy

Wednesday, 10 June 2009 1:52 P GMT-06
We can not rush health care reform.  The two parts--coverage and cost containment are not the same.  If we get this wrong the ability to fix it in the future is much more difficult.   We need to get the funding right.  We need to make sure innovation continues.  We need to make sure that the health care of the future is better than what we have today.  We need for health care to be better for the generation after the baby boomers.  Any one who thinks that public health care is simple should understand that health care is bigger in the economy than GM.  The politicians should take their time and get it right.
